Fisker Vancouver Launch

Submitted by on July 9, 2012 – 9:45 AMNo Comment

Perfect summer weather was the backdrop for Fisker Vancouver’s launch of the long awaited Karma hybrid vehicle. Designed and manufactured under the watch of ex Aston Martin and BMW designer Henrik Fisker, the new vehicle’s proportions exuded a grandiose feeling reminiscent of the two marques. The design language of the low, curvaceous body alludes to the DB9 while the large slatted grills pay homage to the Z8.

This is Henrik Fisker’s first ground up creation, though not his first vehicles produced. For a short run, he produced the Fisker Latigo and Tramonta (which were essentially rebodied and revamped Mercedes R230 SL’s and E63/64 BMW 6ers.

Upon first glance, the Fisker definitely has great potential for customization. The large wheel wells can accommodate oversize wheels up to 22 inches in diameter. The interiors are well appointed and highly modern. Power and torque figures are impressive and power delivery is instant. Prices will range from ~ $110-130k + tax

- Amazing 403hp, 981 instant torque

- 300 mile range on both modes

- Modern Design, unique interiors

- Brembo brakes

- Only 50 mile range on pure electric

- Lack of sound makes the driver lose the sensation of driving

- Finishing looks cheap in some instances – chrome window surrounds, some leather trims, turn signal stocks
